# Notification Settings

## Three modes per category

For each category, you can choose how Yaffi notifies you:

* **Every time** — a notification for each reminder as soon as it's enriched.
* **Daily digest** — one summary notification a day instead of one per reminder.
* **Silent** — no notifications at all for that category; changes still show up in the timeline.

You can set this independently for each category, so, for example, Buy could notify every time while Household stays silent.

## No notifications while the app is open

If Yaffi is open in the foreground, it doesn't show notifications — you're already looking at the results as they arrive in the timeline, so there's nothing to interrupt you with.

## Where to change it

Notification settings live in the app's Settings screen, under the per-category options. Changes apply to the next reminders Yaffi processes.

Whatever you choose, every change still shows up in [Undo and the Timeline](/en/docs/undo-and-timeline.md) — nothing is ever only a notification.
